The influence on other regions of the Minoan world of the dress style of metropole-Crete was an important aspect of Minoan civilization. Although the influence seems clear, comparisons of clothing from different regions have revealed certain regional differences.

The impression gained from Minoan frescos is that the female dress costume on Thera was more simple than on Crete, and the diaphanous and the thick fabrics used on mainland Greece are more common. It is also certain that Minoan fashion influenced the way the Mycenaeans dressed. As a result, Mycenaean clothes, mainly women's dresses, differed only slightly from their Minoan models.
