n Peloponissos, near the modern-day villiage of Old Epidaurus on the western shores of the Saronic Gulf, lies the Classical city-state of Epidaurus. Epidaurus is mostly known for its theater which, since ancient times, has been famous for its accoustics. The theater is one of the architectual structures located in the area of the Sanctuary of Asklepieion at Epidaurus.
