The Foundation's educational programmes take place at Hellenic Cosmos, either as part of exhibitions or as independent Sunday events, and are addressed to children of pre-school and school age. Their objective is to bring children into contact with aspects of our culture and through creative workshops and pleasant presentations to understand our history. The contribution of the History and Archaeology Department is significant, especially in the Sunday educational programmes. The selection of the subjects and the creative activities are decided in collaboration with the Museum Educators Department. The scientific information material and the presentations that accompany every programme originate from the History Department, taking under consideration the proper documented presentation of each subject.
The programmes that have been created so far with the contribution of the department are:
- "The ancient theatre"
- "Nature in prehistoric art" (as part of the educational programme about nature)
- "Learning from animals" (inspired by the stories of Aesop and Aristophanes)
- "Flavors and health, diet in antiquity"
- "Searching for Alexander the Great"
- "Journey to the world of Greek mathematics"
- "Creating statues like in antiquity: learning about Phidias"
- "The children play... like in Antiquty"
- "Reconstruction of an excavation"
