The encyclopedia of Constantinople attempts with approximately 300 titles of entries to outline the exciting and turbulent history of the city that started as a colony of the Megareis and evolved into a capital of an empire. It examines the development of Hellenic presence in the city from Antiquity to the present day.
This encyclopedia also follows the methodological principles that govern the whole of the Encyclopedia of the Hellenic World. It includes, similarly to the first volume, databases, electronic files of texts, sounds and images, multimedia applications, links to web sites that provide research and information services. At the same time, a series of tools are available to the visitors, which facilitate them in navigation and in the in-depth examination of information.
