In 1935 the parliament moved from the building of Kolokotroni square, where they were housed since the middle of the 19th
century, to the Old Palace, the present House of Parliament.
At the political level, that year was marked by the continuous anti-parliamentary actions and the perpetuation of the division
of the National Schism. The dictatorship of the 4th August 1936 was the climax of these processes.
