On Monday 8 March 1999, on the occasion of the global celebration of Woman's Day, the municipality of N. Filadelfia, the Municipality's Cultural Centre and the Office of Women in Social Politics D.N.F. awarded "Attalos Filadelfos" to persons and institutions that have excelled in culture, science, social life, politics, education and other fields, both in national and international level. In this context the Foundation of the Hellenic World was awarded.
During the award speeches were made by Valasia Loukou-Kamarikou, President of the Office of Women of Social Politics, and Mr. Pantelis Gretzelias, Mayor of N. Filadelfia, while the event came to an end with the performance of the Choir of the Cultural Centre of N. Filadelfia.
