On 18 April 2000 the Reporter's Commitee of Greek Radio (E.R.A.) awarded the pioneering iniative and activity of people and institutions, in various fields, who came from the domain of the "Society of Citizens". The twenty people awarded were representatives of non govermental organisations-volunteer groups, citizen movements, private enterprises and pioneering media of the country outside Athens- who formed an alternative goverment, the "Non Govermental Goverment".
Within this context, E.R.A. awarded the President of the Foundation of the Hellenic World Mr. Lazaros Efraimoglou. The award had to do with his contribution to the field of research - technology.
By awarding Mr. Efraimoglou they awarded the contribution of private initiative in public affairs, the utilisation of contemporary technology in the understanding of Hellenic history, as well as the serious scientific methods in dealing with Hellenic issues.
In the event, which took place at the DIVANI CARAVEL hotel, present were the Minister of the Interior Mrs. Vaso Papandreou, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Giorgos Papandreou, the Minister of National Defence Mr. Akis Tsohatzopoulos and many members of the Parliament and other politicians. Then the persons awarded were received by the President of the Hellenic Republic, who congratulated them for their work.
