The Javelin

The ancient Greeks often practiced the javelin since this was their primal offensive weapon. In Homer's Iliad, the Achaeans threw the discus and javelin, as an interval between battles, while in the Odyssey, the suitors of Penelope, Odysseus' wife, enjoyed themselves by throwing the javelin and discus in a specifically constructed area.
