So the study of the folk soul and art [...] created on the other hand a modern movement that yearns for the simple pace of life and seeks in works of art a new simplicity both in rhythm and form. This movement is not only synchronized with the radical artistic concept that is associated with the examples of primitive art, but it is a movement that bridges so to speak the social classes with the idea of a popular soul and a protest against rationalism, cosmopolitanism and the industrialization of the world.
