The runner

Running was the most practical and common form of athletic exercise in ancient Greece, and there were always many talented runners who participated in the competitions. Athletes of this period were known for their amazing endurance, strength and speed. The stade runners (speed contest) should possess thin feet whereas the runners of dolichos (long distance race) should also possess strong shoulders and neck.
