The wrestler
The ancient writer Philostratus claimed that a good wrestler should have a harmonious body and built, strong shoulders and hands and should not have a thin neck, broad breastbone, strong ribs, flat stomach and flexible hip, strong thighs and legs and give off the impression of a strong statue.
Among the most famous wrestlers were the renowned Milon of Croton, Hipposthenes and his son Etimokles of Sparta, Aristodemus of Elis, Timasitheos of Croton and Isidorus of Alexandria.
