Elections

The exchange of populations altered the composition of the Greek electoral body (reversal of demographic balances). However, since there were settlements of solid refugee populations, their convictions, as they materialized in the successive (ten in all) elections of the period 1923-40, are extremely interesting.
It is worth observing that every election was carried out under a different electoral system, according to the interests of the party in power, a fact engineered through the systematic change of electoral districts. The reasoning that governed the conduct of plebiscites in public life was similar, with results easily anticipated every time, corroborating the pursuits of those in power.
