Introduction: Idiom and the claims of social groups in the inter-war period
The inter-war period is a privileged time in terms of the proliferation of new idioms. The emergence and gradual strengthening of a number of social groups in the framework of Greek society (such as women and workers), left their mark on the way these groups expressed themselves. These idioms usually developed in an individual and organic way, reflecting conflicting interests and views (of various political parties, social groups etc.). However, their careful interpretation and the importance they came to adopt decisively contributed to the understanding of their position and aspirations in Greece's rapidly changing society.
